The 48th Ghent International Film Festival, which will take place from October 12 to October 23 in the medieval city of Flanders, will feature a tribute to Greek cinema, its creators, and the composers of its film scores, ANA reports.
In particular, the program Focus on Greek Cinema will for the first time bring to Belgium a picture of Greek film through the decades, while inviting the audience of the festival to listen to the soundtrack that runs through it.
The Ghent Festival, which has always aimed at promoting the creation of film music, will award Eleni Karaindrou this year for all her work. The award ceremony will take place at the closing ceremony of the festival, during which the World Soundtrack Awards will be presented.
The program was created in close collaboration with the Hellenic Cinema Center and is carried out with the support of the Greek Embassy in Belgium.
